Derek Rue – Tenor

American Tenor in Europe

Californian native Derek Rue moved to Europe in 2011 to pursue a degree in Vocal Performance at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. He then quickly gained experience performing on the European stage.

Singing Athlete

After retiring from Professional snowboarding, Derek became involved in classical music and Opera while attending the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he obtained his Degree in French. He was a choir section leader in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Pasadena, California, and gained experience in numerous Opera Productions in the Los Angeles area. Derek then moved to Salzburg and after completing his Degree, he now has a full-time engagement Theater Trier, Germany
